The science department at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is proud to present a signature program for students and for all individuals in the greater Jackson community.
Known as the Science Adventure Series, this program creates unique educational opportunities that promote scientific literacy and engagement across multiple fields of science.
These high-quality informal educational programs occur throughout the year through a series of children-only events, family-friendly events, and adults-only events.

Nights at McRae
Have a child that’s interested in the sciences? Sign them up for one of our Nights at McRae events where students will spend the night at the McRae Science Center at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and learn about a host of scientific fields in a unique theme.
Sip and Science
Are you ever curious about how science connects to your everyday life? Join us for a Sip & Science event and engage with scientists about a variety of subjects through labs and interactive lessons. Attendees must be 21 years of age.
Family Events
Want to find an event that the whole family can attend? Our Science Adventure Series includes events like Saturday morning nature events or our SA Spooktacular Halloween event in late October.
Join us for the first Nights at McRae of the 2023-24 school year– Arctic Adventure! We’ll spend the evening “exploring the arctic” through various games and challenges acting as conservationists, in order to ultimately find populations of endangered arctic animals! Activities include building a sled to learn about friction and momentum, creating a map and learning about Arctic geography, understanding the obstacles scientists face while studying wildlife in the frozen tundra, and identifying endangered and threatened animals in the arctic! Explorers, are you brave enough to face this challenge?? This adventure will be an overnight event for St. Andrew’s students in grades 4-6, held in the McRae Science Center, hosted by the St. Andrew’s science department. Register your attendance here.
